No history to clear.
GONE does not create its own viewing history or remember media-specific activity.
PRIVACY-FIRST VIDEO PLAYER · MACOS
The private video player for macOS. Watch local and NAS videos without a viewing history in GONE. Choose app-switch concealment and supported screen-recording protection, with a playlist that disappears when you close.
All features for 14 days. No account or credit card required to start.
01 / Features
A player that remembers less, with clear controls for what appears on your screen.
GONE does not create its own viewing history or remember media-specific activity.
Open several videos and move through your queue. The session playlist is discarded when you close GONE.
Turn on focus cover to hide video and pause audio when you switch apps. Reveal it yourself when you return; playback stays paused.
Hide video pixels from supported screenshots and screen recordings. This protects video only, not audio or app controls.
Requires supported macOS 14.4+ and capture methods. It cannot prevent every capture.
Panic Close covers the video and ends your GONE session. Press Command-Shift-X to close the app. Your original files stay where they are.
Play local files or browse private SMB shares. NAS credentials, browsing and paths stay within the session; GONE does not build a cloud library of your videos.
02 / GONE & other players
Many players are built to manage a lasting media library. GONE is built for private sessions, with less remembered between them.
| What matters | GONE• | Other players |
|---|---|---|
| Viewing history | No viewing history or per-video activity stored by GONE. | Some keep recent items or playback positions; behavior and settings vary. |
| Your playlist | A temporary queue, discarded when you close GONE. | Session and saved playlists vary by player. |
| When you switch apps | Optional cover and audio pause. Reveal manually; playback stays paused. | Pause and concealment controls vary by player and platform. |
| Screen capture | Video-pixel protection for supported macOS 14.4+ capture methods. Audio and app controls are not covered. | Capture protection and its scope depend on the player and platform. |
A comparison of product choices, not a claim about every player. Other players may offer privacy settings; check the features of the version you use.
Without an active license, video playback is locked when the trial ends. GONE stays open so you can buy a license or enter your key. Restarting the app does not restart the trial. A GONE 1 license costs USD 49.99 once, with no subscription.
No account or credit card is needed for the 14-day trial. Internet access is required to start and periodically verify access. If you buy a license, your checkout email is used for license delivery and purchase recovery; a purchase is not anonymous.
On supported macOS 14.4+ systems, Screen recording protection excludes video pixels from supported screenshots and recordings. Audio and app controls are not protected. It is not a guarantee against every capture method.
NAS credentials, folder listings and video paths stay within the current session. GONE does not save them as viewing history or mount the share in Finder. Records kept by your NAS server or network depend on your own setup.
GONE is available for Mac. Check the download page for the current macOS requirements. Screen recording protection requires supported macOS 14.4+ systems. Windows is planned and is not available yet.
